Dario Pilo, intern in the Curatorial Department, will present the results of the anthropological study that he conducted in Samoa during the summer of 2016. The main focus will be on the history of the present diet and nutrition of this population and the way it changed during the course of the centuries since the meeting with Westerners in the 19th century. The topic gives the chance to talk about food culture, practices and history of other Polynesian populations. During the presentation photos from the fieldwork and historic photos from the archive will be shown.
