What is a collection? A collection of objects—or a record of life?

The new temporary exhibition “Krzysztof Findziński’s Collection: A Cabinet of Memories—Asia” presents objects that were mostly donated to the Museum of Asia and the Pacific by Krzysztof Findziński—a collector, painter, and the exhibition’s central figure. In 2026 alone, the Museum received a donation of as many as 289 objects from this private collection.

Conceptually, the exhibition draws on the idea of the old cabinets of curiosities—the precursors to modern museums. These were spaces where objects from different cultures, eras, and worlds coexisted side by side. The exhibition’s biographical approach allows visitors to trace how personal experiences from childhood and youth became the beginning of a lifelong passion.

Opening reception for the temporary exhibition: June 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Free admission; limited seating. The event will be interpreted into Polish Sign Language (PJM).

Exhibition dates: June 26 through October 31, 2026. Admission according to the museum’s price list.

Krzysztof Findziński—collector, artist, museum donor, and the exhibition’s featured figure—will personally lead a tour of the exhibition, sharing the stories behind selected objects and recounting his lifelong passion.
