TADEUSZ KULISIEWICZ (1899-1988)
Head of an Old Man, from the cycle China, 1983
Drawing, ink on cardboard.
Tadeusz Kulisiewicz was the most outstanding Polish drawer and a master of classical, simple forms. His journeys to China (1952) and India (1956) strongly influenced his artistic creativity. Many years after these travels he used his sketch books to create bigger formats of more restrained and synthetic expression.
