In The Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw collection there are over 1200 objects from Nepal. In that Himalayan country two religions coexist: Hinduism and Buddhism. Both are represented in the collection by stone sculptures, ceramic, wooden and metal masks and by the woodcuts. Thang-kas - scroll paintings belong to the Buddhist tradition. There is also interesting collection of secular decorative art, especially lavishly sculpted fragments of wood architecture and ceramics from Thimi in Kathmandu valley. There are also weapons, among others khukri - knifes used by Gurkhs, soldiers who are famous serving in British army all around the world. The collection includes also tools and items of daily use.
