The collection of artefacts from Afghanistan and other Central Asian countries consists of approximately 1500 objects. The Afghan part of them constitute a separate and extraordinary set containing felts and rugs, clothing and headdresses, jewellery, tools, metal utensils, armory and glassware. These are usually home made articles produced by different ethnic groups of people inhabiting Afghanistan like: Pushtuns, Uzbeks, Tajiks, Turkomans, Nuristanis, Baluchis. The most objects origin from periods preceding civil wars and conflicts harassing this country for many years since 1978. Thus, the collection presents a document of traditional culture, which had been destroyed or underwent irreparable damages and changes.
