Orient & Ornament. Paintings by Olga Wolniak

29.03.2019 - 5.05.2019

Olga Wolniak was born in Burma (today’s Myanmar). She studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Color, emotions, meanings – these are the issues on which she concentrates creating her large-scale paintings inspired by fabrics from different parts of the world. In her works she “portrays” Oriental carpets and fabrics, kilims and Polish lace. Full of colors and rich ornaments, they are the result of her anthropological and cultural explorations expressed with the use of the painting technique.

Olga Wolniak takes part in many individual and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. The artist’s works are held in the collections of the National Museum, Warsaw; Royal Castle, Warsaw; Zachęta Gallery, Warsaw; Collection of the ING Polish Art Foundation; Art Collection of PKO Bank Polski; Ilana Goor Museum in Jaffa, Israel; as well as private collections.
